Hi!  I know it’s been a while since I last updated the blog (a WHOLE WEEK!!!! snerk) but it HAS been entirely too long since I updated the etsy store.  Well, not any more! There will be a micro-mini updated tomorrow, Wednesday, April 7 some time before 12 noon PDT.

In addition  to listing some of our most popular yarns, I will have 2 new limited edition/limited quantities colorways in a new fiber content, a merino/bamboo blend.  Wanna sneak peak?

Bamboo Composite60% superwash merino / 30% bamboo / 10% nylon

Sock weight (18 wpi 7sts/1 inch on US size 1-2)

440yd/110 g. skein

These colorways are one-offs, but gorgeous nonetheless. The reason that they are one-offs is that I a while ago I bought up some base stock from a dyer who was going in a new direction.  If these prove to be popular and there is a demand for it, I’ll see about adding these to the inventory.

So mark your calendars, update at Dizzy Blonde Studios scheduled for tomorrow morning!

aka, “Where the Hell Has La Been, Anyway?!?”

The answer is here, buried under a pile of “to-do” lists and “sooper seekrit shit” lists, so basically, I have a lot to talk about, it’s either that I can’t, or I just can’t get to writing about them in any intelligible manner due to the whole overwhelming, OMG, WAY TOO MUCH STUFF AND I’M FEELING QUITE OVERWHELMED!!1!…stuff.

So, let’s see, stuff to which I am/was sworn to secrecy:  Design

  1. 2 super secret designs for a super secret book collaboration project.
  2. 1 supper somewhat secret design submitted for magazine publication.
  3. Entered Annie Modesitt’s1000 Fabulous Knit Hats contest (deadline now extended to July 15)

Stuff  to which I am/was sworn to secrecy:  Dye

  1. Mean Girls Yarn Club installment for August.
  2. Collaboration w/ undisclosable popular knitting personage on undisclosable project.

So far, most of these items are on the “done” list:  Pattern & prototypes sent to book author; Concept board sent to Yarn Forward Magazine for consideration (please pick me!); sent multiple pictures of 2 of my more interesting original design hats to Annie (again, please pick me!).

Got the yarn all dyed up for August, and let me tell you, if I NEVER see that color combination ever again, it’ll be too soon!  All that’s left is to perfect the nom, package and ship!  If all goes well (fingers crossed) the installment will ship 1st and 2nd week of August.

And now onto the undisclosable super seekrit collaboration with an undisclosable popular knitting personage which can now be disclosed.  The person is none other than the driving force behind Intentions Yarns, Happy Housewives Soaps & Sniffies and the Purple One (the Empurpleated One?) of the duo:  Lime & Violet.  Yup, I’ll be hand dyeing the yarns for the Mountain Sole Project.  And let me tell you, I am VERY excited about this collaboration!  I’m just thinking it’s about time I cloned myself…at least twice.

And, on top of all this, I’m planning to restock Dizzy Blonde Studio.  I have 2 new colorways, one is a standard colorway, and the other is a Plurk-inspired signature colorway…

…and renamed a third to pay homage to my newest little everyone’s newest addiction…

If all goes as planned the update will on Tuesday, July 21, sometime after 8:30 am.

Okay, gotta dive back into this pool of productivity. In the meantime, you can catch me on Plurk, Twitter, Ravelry or Facebook.  I’m KnottyLa everywhere.  Hopefully it won’t be as long between resurfacings. Who knew I could hold my breath that long, huh?

Many of you have expressed your desire for semi-solid colorways in a heavier weight, and I am nothing if not accomodating.  My DK yarn is a 100% superwash merino and kettled dyed to perfection.  As with the sock yarn, each unique colorway has been named after the “slightly tarnished” blonde who inspired them.

Each skein is approximately 280 yds/115 grams/4oz. of luscious 100% Merino superwash.  Gauge:  5-6 spi on #4-6

Dirty Blonde Superwash DK will be available at Dizzy Blonde Studios starting  April 5, 2009.  I am so pleased with the way these beautiful yarns turned out, I even gave them they’re own themesong!

Just wanted to drop on by before I forget to let everyone know that Dizzy Blonde Studios will be updating it’s store on April 4, 2009, at approx. 10:00 am, California time.

I’m really excited about this update!  Not only do I have 2 new Dizzy Blonde Superwash Sock Colorways…

Faith & Slippery Slope

…I’m debuting an entirely new line! The Dirty Blonde Superwash DK is from the same wonderful 100% Merino superwash you’ve come to expect from Dizzy Blonde Studios. However this line is kettle-dyed, resulting in colors though semi-solid or monochromatic, are rich and vibrant.
